October 22 - Visualizing Images
Descriptive writing should always include visual elements. When your audience reads your writing, they should be able to visualize, or imagine, the content in your writing. To help your audience visualize your writing, you must always include your five senses!
Previously, we have used sounds to help us write descriptively. Today, we will be using images as inspiration for creative descriptive writing. Use your Visualizing Images worksheet and write out one complete sentence answering each of the following questions:

- What is happening?
- Where is this?
- When is this occurring?

Write a story telling exactly what happened here. Who was involved? After the initial shock, what happened to the people?

Descriptive Writing Extra Credit
Review all of your brainstorming photo prompts on your worksheet. Which of your ideas is the most intriguing or exciting to you? Use the answers to your questions to create the beginning of your own short story on your worksheet.

- Your short story MUST include all five of your senses! Circle a sense when you have used it!
- Your short story must be a minimum of 150 words. Count them when you are finished and circle the number.
- You may earn up to five points of extra credit for completing this portion of your worksheet! :)
