October 28 - Cinquain Poems
Today we will continue our exploration and study of Greek and Latin affixes. First, choose some of your Greek or Latin roots from our Make-A-Word group activity and fill them in the boxes on your new Affixes packet. Use your iPad to look up other words with the same roots and fill in each box on your chart.

Now that we have some additional words to work with, choose one of your completed word charts and create a cinquain poem. Write your poem out in your packet using the following format.
Note: Some of your words may not be in the correct form. For example, dictate is a verb. To change it into a noun, I must instead use the word dictator. If you are having trouble identifying word forms, use your online dictionary to help you.

When your written cinquain is finished in your packet, show it to Miss Shaffer. Now that you are done, you may use the app Pic Collage on your iPad to create your own unique poem picture collage to share with the class! The app logo is pictured here. -------------------->
Here is my poem example below that I made using Pic Collage! |
When your Pic Collage is completed, save it as an image on your iPad. Please send it to Miss Shaffer on Engrade as an attachment so that you may receive a grade for it.
