Elements of Grammar Review & Introductory Essay
Part One: Elements of Grammar Review
As 8th grade students, you all have some prior knowledge of parts of speech and correct grammar. Using what you have learned in class already, your iPad, and/or your Elements of Language textbook, try to sort the following words below into as many categories as necessary. Your goal is to group these terms together according to their similarities and to label each group of words.

Part Two: Introductory Essay
To help Miss Shaffer get to know you better, you will write a brief essay all about you! Choose four of the questions below and respond to each question in a handwritten essay. Each answer must be 3-5 sentences long to receive full credit.
Be sure to answer four questions with at least 3 specific, descriptive sentences.
As always, please turn your completed work in to Miss Shaffer to receive full credit for both assignments.

- Name and explain one thing that frustrates you.
- What are some goals you would like to accomplish this year?
- What is the title of the last book you read? Did you like it? Why or why not?
